mount inaccessilbe.jpgLake Aorere – Mt Dommett – Gouland Range – Mt Inaccessible

A tramp from Bainham to Bainham! Lake Aorere – a heart shaped lake, in the heart of Tasman Wilderness. Wild Mount Dommett, and friendly Spey River, followed by great views from the main divide, the Gouland Range. Lastly a trip up Mount Inaccessible to “Space Shuttle Rock”, which I couldn’t launch.

8 day loop in southern Kahurangi. Wild spring weather of snow, hail, sun, rain, wind! Kiwi calls, kaka and whole hillsides of flowering kowhai. I enjoyed the 1950’s huts and was impressed by the massive Mokihinui gorge. Lets hope that Meridian energy dont dam up this precious wild river.

Tops traverse from Mount Arthur to Wangapeka track via Twins and Mount Sodom and Gomorrah. Fantastic views from the Twins into Kahurangi, and east into the Waimea valley and plain.

A 10 day tramp from Mount Arthur to Heaphy River, traversing the Karamea and Beautiful Rivers, Center Peak, Dommett Range and Gunner Downs. Wild weather, fine views and frozen toes in winter! Scrub bash down Bellbird ridge through west coast jungle, then a quick jog back to Golden Bay via Heaphy track.
dragons teeth.jpgDragon’s Teeth High Route, Lead Hills and Boulder Lake
My back yard – its great being able to walk out the door, climb Parapara Peak, and keep walking through the Haupiri Range. After arriving at Boulder Lake climb the boulder pile of Lead Hills, and carry on to the highlight of Kahurangi – Adelaide Tarn and the Dragon’s Teeth.
